The goal of the Sheffield Wind project is to deliver clean, renewable wind energy that will not only provide natural power to Vermonters, but also generate financial and environmental benefits for the local community. Developed, owned and operated by First Wind, Sheffield Wind will create jobs, provide tax revenue and deliver a clean energy alternative to Vermont utilities such as Washington Electric Coop (WEC), to help stabilize energy costs.
Approved by the Vermont Public Service Board in August 2007, the Sheffield Wind project is a source of local pride and a symbol of greater American energy independence. |
