Developed by First Wind Vermont Wind, a division of First Wind, the Sheffield Wind project is estimated to produce 115,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of energy locally per year—enough to power all the homes in Caledonia County.1In addition, harnessing the natural and inexhaustible resource of wind will provide a wealth of economic and environmental benefits to the local area for years to come.

The renewable energy to be generated by Sheffield Wind will be used for towns included in the service territories of WEC, as well as other utilities that have shown strong interest in purchasing local, clean energy from the wind farm:
