Wind energy provides more than just environmental benefits. This natural and inexhaustible resource can be harnessed to provide the Sheffield community with a wealth of economic benefits—including over $500,000 in revenues annually.

• More jobs for residents: The project will hire locally whenever possible, providing over 200 construction, operations, and maintenance employment opportunities.
• Use of local services: Approximately $25 million will be funneled to Vermont’s economy during development and construction through the use of personnel, gravel, trucking, lodging, gas and food to benefit local retailers and area residents.
• Local, sustainable energy: First Wind is developing agreements with local, Vermont-based utilities so the power that will be made in Vermont stays in Vermont.
